Evaluation phase one requires a trader to reach a profit target of 8% while not surpassing their 5% maximum daily loss or 8% maximum loss rules. When it comes to time limitations, note that you have no minimum or maximum trading day requirements during phase one. To proceed to phase two, you are only required to reach the 8% profit target without breaching the maximum daily or maximum loss limit rules.
Evaluation phase two requires a trader to reach a profit target of 4% while not surpassing their 5% maximum daily loss or 8% maximum loss rules. When it comes to time limitations, note that you have no minimum or maximum trading day requirements during phase two. To proceed to funded status, you are only required to reach the 4% profit target without breaching the maximum daily or maximum loss limit rules.
By completing both evaluation phases, you are awarded a funded account with no minimum withdrawal requirements. You must only respect the 5% maximum daily loss and 8% maximum loss rules. Your first payout is 14 calendar days from the day you place your first position on your funded account, while all other withdrawals can also be submitted bi-weekly. Your profit split will be 90% based on the profit you make on your funded account.
Aqua Funded Rules
Step 1 Rules
Profit Target:
- If profit target is reached after all positions are closed, you are offered a funded account.
- Phase 1: Reach 9% profit target without violating any rules and trading parameters.
Hold overnight & trade over weekends:
- Aqua Funded have no restrictions on holding trades over night or the weekend. Weekend crypto trading is allowed.
Maximum Daily Loss:
- Max daily loss is based on 3% of the initial account balance. Aqua Funded calculate daily drawdown as follows:
- Upon the 5 pm EST day change, Aqua Funded will take the higher figure of either the account balance or account equity and subtract a fixed 3% of the initial balance from the higher value as the daily loss limit for the new day.
- Example 1: On a 100K Account, if at 5 pm EST you have an open trade with a floating profit of $2,000, your account equity will be 102K. With a 3% daily drawdown, the equity cannot drop below $99,000 ($102,000 – $3,000 = $99,000) on the next trading day.
- Example 2: If on a 100K Account at 5 pm EST you have an open trade with a floating loss of -$2,000, your account equity will be $98,000. Because your $100K balance is higher than your $98,000 equity, your daily drawdown limit of $3,000 will be calculated on a $100K balance. This means for the next trading day, the equity cannot drop below $97,000 ($100,000 – $3,000 = $97,000).
- Example 3: If there are no open trades at 5 pm EST, the daily drawdown will be 3% of whatever the closed balance is.
- Upon the 5 pm EST day change, Aqua Funded will take the higher figure of either the account balance or account equity and subtract a fixed 3% of the initial balance from the higher value as the daily loss limit for the new day.
Maximum Total Loss:
- Max drawdown will remain at 6% trailing of your Highest Watermark Closing Trade made. If your account reaches 6% of your starting balance your trailing Drawdown will lock in at your starting balance.
- Once your Drawdown is locked in at your starting balance Aqua Funded add a fixed 1% buffer on the account. This way you cannot withdraw all the profit and breach your account.
- Example 1: You have a 100k account.Your Daily drawdown is a fixed 4% and your Max Trailing is 6%. Your Daily drawdown level is $96,000 and your Max trailing is $94,000. If you make $8,000 profit, once your account has made over 6% of the starting balance your Trailing now locks in at $100,000. It no longer trails. Drawdown includes profits and losses from closed positions, swap fees and commissions.
- Example 2: You start out with a 100k account. Your Daily drawdown is 4% and your Max Trailing is 6%. Your Daily drawdown level is $96,000 and your Max Trailing is $94,000. Lets say you make $5,000 profit. This puts your account at $105,000. The next day your Daily drawdown will be $105,000- $4000 = $101,000. Your Max trailing drawdown is $105,000-$6,000 = $99,000. Your new Max trailing drawdown is $99,000 because it trails from your highest recorded balance which was $105,000.
- Daily drawdown will reset each Day at 5PM EST. Max Trailing will always be from Highest recorded balance unless you achieve 6% from your starting balance.
Max drawdown: Drawdown for 1-phase evaluations is Trailing.
Step 2 Rules
Profit Target:
- Phase 1: Reach 8% profit target without violating any rules and trading parameters.
- Phase 2: Reach 5% profit target without violating any rules and trading parameters.
Hold overnight & trade over weekends:
- Aqua Funded have no restrictions on holding trades over night or the weekend. Weekend crypto trading is allowed.
Maximum Daily Loss:
- Max daily loss is based on 5% of the Initial account balance. Aqua Funded calculate daily drawdown as follows: Upon the 5pm Est day change, Aqua Funded will take the higher figure of either the account balance or account equity and subtract a fixed 5% of the initial balance from the higher value as the daily loss limit for the new day.
- Example 1: On a 100K Account, if at 5pm EST you have an open trade with a floating profit of $2,000, your account equity will be 102K. With a 5% daily drawdown, the equity cannot drop below $97,000 ($102,000 – $5,000 = $97,000) on the next trading day.
- Example 2: If on a 100K Account at 5pm EST you have an open trade with a floating loss of -$2,000, your account equity will be $98,000. Because your $100K balance is higher than your $98,000 equity, your daily drawdown limit of $5,000 will be calculated on a $100K balance. This means for the next trading day, the equity cannot drop below $95,000 ($100,000 – $5000 = $95,000).
- Example 3: If there are no open trades at 5pm EST, the daily drawdown will be 5% of whatever the closed balance is.
The Maximum Total Loss:
- The maximum total loss allowed in your account is 8%. Example using a $100,000 account: Max total loss is 8% of your initial balance = $8,000. Your account equity including unrealized/floating positions must not hit/exceed below $92,000.
Max drawdown: Drawdown for 2-phase evaluations is static.

EAs & Trade Copiers:
- EAs are allowed. You may use EAs (Expert Advisors) that you setup to suit your own strategy or trading style. Trade Copiers are allowed.
Any trading styles that are deemed as “cheating” are not permitted and will result in a violation of Aqua Funded Terms of Service. For this reason, it is against Aqua Funded rules to take advantage of strategies that generate risk-free, consistent profits only on demo accounts.
Aqua Funded Funded Traders are expected to be trading on their accounts as if they are live accounts. Any use of a strategy that takes advantage of demo accounts will result in the closure of a Funded Trader’s account, whether in the evaluation phase or while funded.
Example Strategies That Violate Aqua Funded Rules:
- Use of platform or data freezing due to a Demo Server error.
- Use of a delayed data feed
- Trading on delayed charts
- Tick scalping, high frequency trading, arbitrage bots
- Reverse arbitrage
- Latency arbitrage
- Hedge arbitrage or any emulators are prohibited.
These are the most common strategies that Aqua Funded have seen people use to take advantage of demo accounts, though this list does not represent all possible strategies that would go against Aqua Funded trading rules. If any account is seen to be using unfair strategies or an unrealistic trading style, they will not be eligible to be funded.
Two-phase Evaluation Scaling Plan
The Two-phase Evaluation also has a scaling plan. If a trader is profitable in the last three months with either an average return of 12% over the three-month period or a 4% return each month during the three-month period, then you will become eligible for an account size increase equal to 30% of the initial account size.
Example:
- After 3 Months: A qualified $100,000 account increases to $130,000.
- After the Next 3 Months: A qualified $130,000 account increases to $160,000.
- After the Next 3 Months: A qualified $160,000 account increases to $190,000.

The combination of a professional dashboard, a large variety of instruments, flexible trading requirements, and a high profit share (with a full refund on fees) is certainly enticing. Additionally, the possibility of scaling up to $2,000,000 and the quality of its platform shows how Aqua Funded is ready to take his place in the Forex Propfirm world.
Overall, AquaFunded has the potential to be a good fit for experienced traders who are comfortable with the risks and are looking for a prop firm with minimal rules. However, for less experienced traders or those who are risk-averse, it may be best to consider a more established prop firm with a clearer fee structure.
