Gold prices remain under pressure, trading around $2,785, down 0.60% for the day, as a stronger U.S. dollar weighs on the precious metal. The dollar surged following President Trump’s announcement of new tariffs on Canada, Mexico, and China, which has fueled inflation concerns and expectations of a hawkish Federal Reserve.
Despite the pullback, gold finds support from safe-haven demand due to fears of economic fallout from the tariffs and speculation that the Fed may cut interest rates twice by the end of 2025. Traders now await key U.S. economic data, including the ISM Manufacturing PMI, for further market direction.
